"Sarreguemines, Fine Stoneware Planter With Reliefs"
Sarreguemines, cache-pot on fine stoneware base with decorations of applications in relief.The exterior of the pieces is covered with a blue engobe.
The applied decorations, two women, one holding a sheaf of wheat, the other a scale, were molded separately then glued using liquefied slip before undergoing high-temperature firing which sealed the body and decorations in relief.
The hollow mark "Sarguemines" takes up the old spelling of the name of the city.
Height of the whole - 14 cm
Diameter of the opening - 12.7 cm
Condition - three tiny gaps (see photos).
