Hercules is depicted as the protector of the arts, he is seated under the bust of the young King Louis XIV.  The original painting by Charles Errard is now lost.
Chisel engraving from the "Triumphs of Louis the Just" edited by Jean Valdor the Younger.
17th century, circa 1646-1648.
A version is in Paris, National Library of France, Cabinet des Estampes; another in Liège, Cabinet des Estampes.
Blackened and gilded wooden frame, margins probably cut.
Frame: H. 41 x W. 32,5 cm.
