Box Covered In Vermeil By Lalaounis Circa 1970-80

Beautiful vermeil box by Lalaounis in the Greek or Etruscan style. The shape takes up the typology of the Greek lekane. In the 1950s, he became interested in the art and techniques of jewelry from antiquity. He is now inspired by it for his creations. In 1957, he created with five other jewelers the association of Greek Jewelers. In 1958, at the International Fair of Thessaloniki, he exhibited for the first time his jewels inspired by Greek history (from the Paleolithic to the Byzantine Empire). In 1968, he opened his first boutique in Paris. Signed below and silver titled 800.
