Very nice pair of Empire period mahogany and mahogany veneer armchairs. Our armchairs rest on a base characteristic of the 1810s, front legs in baluster and rear legs in saber. The armrests rest on palm-shaped capitals. The rear part of the armrests juxtaposing the backrest is carved with palmette motifs. The upholstery is in good condition, the seat is firm and comfortable, the covering fabric is old gold-coloured velvet, slightly stained on the front of the seat. Very nice manufacture of excellent workmanship from the end of the Empire period.
