Spectacular watch holder with gilt bronze base with finely chiseled plant decoration of water lilies which supports two large iridescent mother-of-pearl shells which open and reveal a pompom watch holder. On either side a small candlestick in the shape of a flower intended for the installation of candles. It measures 35 cm high by 29 cm wide and 16 cm deep (base) for a weight of 1,200 kg. This is a French work from the Napoleon III period. A very beautiful unusual object, both useful and very decorative. Very beautiful carving of the base and iridescence of the mother-of-pearl.
