The finesse and quality of the carvings show the dexterity of the engraver of this piece from the late 18th or early 19th century.
Inverted chalice base supporting a potbellied belly, surmounted by a long ringed neck, ending in a fine chalice.
The body is wonderfully worked with interlacing, bringing the idea of the labyrinth, roundels, braids and many epigraphic decorations fill the spaces, up to complex Arabic knots.
Many braid friezes separate the large decorations.
