A reliquary pendant set with medallions of the Agnus Dei.

French or German, late 15th century.

Measures 6.6 x 5.5cm.

The front of the pendant is set with an enamelled plaque depicting the Lamb of God bearing a flag with the cross of St. George and surrounded by flowers. The reverse is set with a copper gilt plaque centred with the Agnus Dei and surrounded with the latin text ‘agnus:dei:qui:tollis:peccata:mundi’ which translates as ‘Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world’.
