"Art Brut Painting Signed Chomo"
Oil on panel by the artist Roger Chomeaux dit Chomo. (1907-1999) After a classical artistic training at the Fine Arts of Valenciennes then Paris, his approach is to deconstruct his achievements to reinvent an original work. After the Second World War, he retired to the heart of the forest of Fonteinebleau where he created his village of Preludian Art (1960-1999) with recycled materials and objects. In 1960 he exhibited in Paris (Galerie Jean Camion) a work on burnt wood. Very noticed by the old surrealists (André Breton, Dali, Picasso, Michaux.)
