A "Dancer" stoneware vase designed by Géo CONDE for MOUGIN Brrothers (Pierre et Joseph) - NANCY (Lunéville workshop), Esthern France
with a brown enamelled decor of a dancing woman on an ocher-yellow background. Hollow signature under the base "Mougin Nancy Conde.dc", n° "282.J" and with the workshop's "L". H : 11,02 inch / 28cm
The number 282 corresponds to the ascending order of edition of the models from Joseph and Pierre MOUGIN and can therefore be dated chronologically around 1920. The letter J indicates that it was Joesph who made this one and the letter L, also hollow as this piece, comes from the workshops of the Lunéville factory. Geo Condé is the model maker or the artist who created the model with these antique dancers in relief, from which we can compare another model of different shape but with an excatly similar decor n° 291 (There are as with our model several color variations).
