This sculpture, Spanish School from the end of the 15th century, is a representation of Saint John the Baptist.
There are two ways of showing him: one with the lamb which he points to at his feet, the other with the lamb which he also points to above a book.
Conforming therefore to the iconography, he is represented here with the book he holds in his left hand surmounted by the Lamb (missing), showing it with his right hand (with partial lack of a few fingers).
He wears a tunic and a late Gothic pleated coat. His long, thin face is highlighted by a beard and mustache, framed by his long wavy hair.
Its nose with the straight edge and its eyes with slightly bulging globes indicate its Iberian origin.
