"Inuit Mask, Alaska, Late 19th Century"
Face mask showing a face with fairly harsh features. The gaze is low, the mouth is rectangular and the face is incised with several lines. This type of mask was used by shamans and made following the vision of a shaman. They were generally colored, moreover, on this copy, we can see remains of polychromy (red, white and black).
Dense oiled wood (slight lacks related to wear around the mask). Patina of use, polychromy. H: 20 cm
