"Opera Scene Lithograph, Signed Albert Guillaume"
Lithograph (34 x 26cm), dated 1903, representing an opera scene during the Belle Epoque. A singer, whose imposing profile shows that she is the main character of the scene, is announced. Frail silhouettes, two maids and a butler, accompany her. The arrangement of the characters and the colors used bring this woman to the fore, at a time when singers were extremely famous in social circles. We detect here the talents of caricaturist of the artist. Albert Guillaume (1873-1942), was one of the most recognized painter, poster artist and caricaturist during the Belle Epoque. It is notably exhibited at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. The original frame, made up of a thin golden rod, lends a little more preciousness to the scene. Delivery possible, not included in the price.
