"Virgin And Child Stone Sculpture Medieval Period"
Medieval sculpture representing a Virgin and Child carved in high relief on a limestone barrel. Amazing structure which probably comes from a rood screen. The faces were cropped and even decapitated for the Virgin. This was probably done during the French Revolution. The lower part of the sculpture has an overhang at the level of the feet of the Virgin, which means that the was stands perfectly upright while being on the edge of a support. 54cm in height 20cm in diameter Very heavy object Contact me for delivery.
