The family moved to Switzerland from 1908 and lived in Lausanne. She devoted herself very early to sculpture and entered the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in 1923, where she rubbed shoulders with Émile Antoine Bourdelle under the direction of Ary Bitter. She will stay in Paris for 10 years. She begins to exhibit in Paris but also throughout Europe. Between April and September 1934, she took part in a mission called "Paris-Le Cap" or during which she crossed Africa for 6 months by automobile, the route of which was initially planned to be 30,000 km. on this journey, she crosses the continent in both directions. On her return from her African journey, she settled in Morocco and founded, in October 1934, a school of painting and sculpture in Casablanca. .She will stay in Morocco for 15 years. Numerous exhibitions organized in Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech (La Mamounia), Rabat. during this period, she traveled to black Africa and in August 1948 exhibited "her black work" at the Mamounia. On December 17, 1948, she was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Colonial Sciences for the artistic and ethnographic value of her missions in Cameroon and Guinea. She continued to criss-cross Africa in her "Dodge" ambulance, baptized "Ki-Lu-Cru" until 1953. She died on July 18, 1966 in an automobile accident.
