Gilbert Poillerat is a French decorator and master ironworker. He began his training at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, then headed towards the work of chasing and forging at the Ecole Boulle. He then turned to ironwork. It was at Edgard Brandt, in the decorative ironwork department, that the 19-year-old young man learned his trade.
