Elegant game table contadine of the Avignon papal enclave in carved walnut wood blackened and gilded rectangular shape. Table of living room of middle with tray in cabaret provided with angular appendices, sheathed in red morocco, gilded in the small irons; under which slide in belt four drawers centered of button of pulling. This one, with wide and curved profiles, rests on a base with four thin and arched feet punctuated with deer feet gilded in the Italian style with pigmented varnish. The tray in cabaret allowed the dice, cards or other chips thrown to not leave it. The angular appendices, very appreciable nowadays to deposit its glass, were conceived with the aim of arranging candlesticks or candelabras in order to light the game without hindering the shuffling of the cards; rounded they blocked the candlesticks. Balance, nervousness, elegance and quality are the most appropriate terms for this elegant, typically Contadine table. This work so specific of the Provençal fustier masters gives to this atypical piece of furniture all its letters of nobility; one finds there the exuberance of the South combined with the theatrical taste of a quite Italian magnificence. It should be noted that the bottom of one of the four drawers was formerly restored as well as the ends of the feet.
