Large silver print presenting a warrior from the island of Malaita photographed in studio.
He is richly adorned with traditional shell jewelry.
This print bears in a lower corner the signature (dry stamp) of Josiah Martin (1843-1916), famous New Zealand photographer
and the legend "Solomon Islander JM766", and on the back the wet stamp of Charles Chusseau Flaviens (1866-1928),
photojournalist at the origin of the creation of one of the first photo news agencies.
Our print, in good general condition, is slightly faded.
