Pleasant classic canvas from the middle of the 19th century representing a river in a mountainous landscape. in the background castle on a height, village and in the foreground characters discussing at the edge of a path. the painting is in good condition, has been re-canvased. It is presented in a nice channeled frame (some retouching on the outer flat edge). Signature lower left in red to decipher and date 1848. Dimensions of the canvas alone, 32 cm x 24 cm With the frame, 45.5 cm x 38 cm. Very decorative painting.
