He studied in Bordeaux and Paris in various academies and is recognized as a colonial painter for his landscape and marine works. Many trips made to the North African colonies explain why many works are related to these regions of the world of which he painted scenes of the Sahara. He exhibits regularly at the Salons de l'Atelier where he presents regional views, in particular of the Bassin d'Arcachon. He exhibited at the colonial exhibition of Vincennes in 1931, then at the international exhibition of 1937; some of his works are kept at the Permanent Museum of the Colonies. A navy by his hand was also exhibited at the Louvre Museum for twenty years, before the renovation of the Pérouse room. A large triptych, that of the Punishment of the guilty woman, was made and adorns the town hall of Biscarosse.
