19th Century Saltshaker Depicting A Cart Driven By An Angel And Drawn By A Goat

Rare Saleron de table representing a cart driven by an angel with a whip; the harnessed animal, a goat or a goat as well as the angel are in silvered bronze (or silver, there is no hallmark) the frame of the vehicle, the wheels and the drawbar are made of cylindrical rods of assembled bronze by welding, two curved plates form the hitch that connects it to the animal.
The extremely charming scene, the high quality production make this group a very endearing object.

For information the little angel is only "pricked" in balance on the back of the animal by means of a small spike.
The original verrine is cut crystal, it is in excellent condition.
