"Bolster In Walnut, Gothic Spirit - Late Nineteenth"
Gothic-style stand, with high top and square base in Walnut Veneer. The first, with a 'Bec de Corbin' carved perimeter, is supported by a solid walnut structure made up of four turned columns with twisted grooves in the central part. They are linked together by arches and the high and low ends are generously molded. These four pillars are fixed by a system of period wooden screws under the base, with modestly contoured sides, of this Bolster. We will also note the presence, in the center under the top, of a turned piece of wood, as if suspended in the middle of the four Columns. This piece of furniture can be used traditionally, as a Repository for a Decorative object, or, installed in a hall or a vestibule, as a Character Empty Pocket. ********* Period: Late 19th century Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
