This complete series has in fact 55 prints, in addition to the 53 prints representing the stations of this road, there are 2 additional prints: one for the starting point: the bridge of Nihonbashi (bridge of Japan to Edo), and the one of arrival: a view of Keishi (the capital), for Kyoto.
OBAN format, TATE-E orientation (portrait).
We can date them to the 1855 years, perhaps a maximum of ten more years, or at the very beginning of the Meïji era.
A similar version is kept at the British Museum.
To report:
- blue cover made of fine paper in working condition which has in fact played its role of protecting prints very well.
- they are connected, the two middle prints have slight wrinkles and tears.
- a few worms and light tasks.
As you can see from the photos, the colors are lively and incredibly fresh.
They are presented back to back, connected but not glued.
I chose not to separate them and sell them individually, as this complete document is exceptional.
I could only publish a small part of the photos of the prints, I remain at your disposal for any additional photos.
