Jean Rémond studied in the studio of Cormon and Richemond. In his early days he painted landscapes of Brittany and Corrèze. He travels to the East, to Egypt, to Syria, to Palestine and brings back luminous watercolors. The artist exhibited at the Salon in 1894 until 1913. Co-founder, in 1908, of La Cimaise, a group of painters, sculptors and decorative artists who exhibited together at the Galerie Georges Petit, then at the Galerie Devambez in Paris from 1909 in 1922. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and became a member in 1903, In 1905, he exhibited at the sixth exhibition of the Arts Réunis at Petit in Paris, an important set of paintings including: "Bord de rivière", "Petit port", "Storm effect", "Sunshine". He appeared at the Nancy Salon, notably in 1907 with two paintings: Chapelle de la Clarté, Snow Effect, and in 1908 with two watercolors: Chapelle à Portpodec, Maison à Portpodec. In 1909, he participated in the Retrospective Exhibition organized by the SLAA of Nancy to honor the Lorraine artists rewarded at the Parisian Salons. He exhibited there: Landscape of the Spanish Pyrenees, La Joie, Church of Penmarch. In 1910 he became friends with the painter Léon Lhermitte and settled in Sainte-Aulde and exhibited a few works there: Women on the banks of the Marne, Gables at dusk, Snow in Sainte-Aulde, Nuit de mai, etc…
