Emile Laborne (1837-1913) - Watercolor of the Tuileries Watercolor representing a view of the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, signed lower right (see photo) by Emile Laborne, French painter and draftsman. A former student at the Lycée Henri IV, Edme-Émile Laborne wrote a thesis for a law degree obtained in 1859 under the title Du louage d'ouvrage et d'industrie. Then he became a student at the Beaux-Arts de Paris under the direction of the sailor Jules Noël etet by the painter Eugène Lacoste. From 1865 until 1890, he exhibited at the Salon. Emile Laborne is known for his landscapes and urban views, painted with delicacy and refinement, with a preference for the Normandy coasts and the Loire Valley. His beach and port landscapes can be compared to those of Eugène Boudin. His studio located rue Joubert, in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, was sold posthumously, on December 19, 1927, to Drouot. Visible at the Galerie Cazals de Fabel, at 41 rue des Acacias.
