Beautifully crafted fireback, with lowered upper angles, marked DE COUSANCE and CE.3E.AP., dated 1581. Its ornamentation of architectural form is adorned with a decor of arcades, decorated with coins, carried by pilasters and consoles, housing the crowned arms of France inscribed in a triumphal hat worn by two trained greyhounds and surmounted by an Indian mascaron from the mouth of which come out two cornucopias.
