Second half of the 19th century India Punjab Male coat of an Indian dignitary called Choga and originating from the Punjab region (Amristar) at the end of the 19th century. Very fine Curry yellow pashmina densely embroidered with red silk thread and silver thread. Kimono cut with wide three-quarter sleeves. Fully lined in straw yellow cotton chintz. The coat closes in front with two buttons in cherry silk trimmings in the shape of a boteh with tapered pompoms. Very fine burgundy taffeta piping around the coat with matching silk braids. A few stains on the lining, no other flaws. Excellent state of color and conservation. To collect or wear! Dimensions: Equivalent size 38 France. Height 99 cm (quite short).
