"Workshop Plaster Signed Marcel Damboise"
Marcel Damboise (1903-1992) Study for a fountain at the Château de Fontainebleau. Signed plaster cast, 1955. Studio plaster cast commissioned by Jacques Warnery, chief architect of historical monuments from 1954 to 1958, for eight statues to be placed around the large basin. Commission placed with eight contemporary sculptors, Damboise, Belmondo, Carton, Corbin, Cornet, Dideron, Janniot and Martin. The project was abandoned in 1958 following the death of Jacques Warnery.
