"Mério Ameglio (1897-1970), Oil On Canvas, Paris Boulevard Des Capucines"
"Paris, Boulevard des Capucines". Superb oil on canvas in its pretty original Montmartre frame (some slight wear to the frame, but which does not detract from the charm of the painting). In a post-impressionist style, this painting represents an animated scene from the Belle Epoque, located on Boulevard des Capucines, with the columns of the Madeleine church and a Morris column in the background on the right. A hectic life emanates from this painting in autumnal colors contrasting with the colorful outfits of ladies and young ladies out for a walk. This work is signed by Merio AMEGLIO, painter born in Italy, who came to settle in Montmartre in 1938 and active member of the Paris Salon. He is renowned for his street scenes and cityscapes. Dimensions of the canvas: 46 cm x 55 cm Dimensions of the frame: 66 cm x 75 cm
