"Miniature Portrait Of A Man Dated November 25, 1805"
Miniature in gouache on cardboard paper representing a young man in bust. He is dressed in civilian clothes and wears a white cotton shirt and a vest whose collar goes up to his ears. He is also wearing a narrow tie framed by two protruding shirt tips and an earring. This earring could be a sign of membership in a companion federation. He also could be a sailor. Great presence in the eyes. Meticulousness in the details and highlights of white. The portrait is protected under glass and mounted in a carved and gilded wooden frame. The latter opens on the miniature by an elegant mantling decoration. On the back of the portrait is written on paper a small paragraph in pen dated November 25, 1805.
On the back, the miniature has been taped by its previous owners. The writing is difficult to read, as the paper is stained and damaged. The date can be read correctly. The portrait is in very good condition.
