"Small Semainier Return From Egypt In Cherry - Early Nineteenth"
Petit Semainier Retour d'Egypte, mostly Cherry, opening by definition with seven drawers aligned vertically. Their facades are in Poirier and the assembly in Dovetails. The first, shallower, which could therefore be attributed to Sunday, overlooks the other six. The latter are provided for each of them with a pair of current pull handles, round, held in the mouth of Lions. The front uprights of this piece of furniture are sheathed Pilasters in both directions, namely in profile and face. They are surmounted by period Patinated Bronzes, representations of Egyptian busts with Nemes Headdresses. In the lower part, dark green moldings recall these ornaments. The top of this Semainier is a predominantly Gray Marble with a fine White veining. The set rests on four straight legs. The interior of the drawers and the back of the Semainier are in Oak. This relatively narrow storage unit offers interesting dimensions. In addition, we can only appreciate its pretty Warm color, which it owes to the harmonious blend of the two fruit trees that compose it. ******** Period: Early 19th century Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
