"Canapé « Denis » de Guillerme et Chambron pour « Votre Maison » vers 1960, sofa, banquette"
Very comfortable sofa by Guillerme and Chambron in solid oak and fawn leather. The high backrest is made up of ten solid curved bars to hold and hug the thick cushions. The wide upper crosspiece is rounded on the sides as on the old so-called “winged” armchairs. The facade rests on three legs, a slight recess in the lower crossbar lightens the structure. Reinforced armrests and seat with thick foam cushions. Crossing the armrest, a wide band of tawny leather, cellar stitching, is held by a turned oak stick putting tension on the side cushion. The fabrics in good condition seem original, a simple cleaning would suffice. This sofa has not been used much and has passed its 60/70 years advantageously. Length: 165 cm - depth: 87 cm - Height: 79 cm The French designers Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990) began their creations after the war.
