"Art Deco Plate Brooch Opal Cabochon Diamonds On Platinum"
This important brooch offers a typical Art Deco plate shape. Made in platinum (dog's head hallmark), it has geometric lines, essentially curved, creating characteristic palmette effects. Cut-out effects emphasize these shapes, while creating a dynamic and a movement towards the center, adorned with a magnificent Australian opal, cabochon cut in an oval shape. This opal, remarkable for its size, is also remarkable for the intensity of its lights, and the wide variety of colors it presents, including particularly popular reds and oranges. By contrast, an arrangement of more rectilinear barettes on either side, and asymmetrical, shows a larger old-cut diamond than the many others that adorn the palmettes. Scallops and closed settings at both ends bring roundness and lightness to this important plate, whose platinum, pearled, is invisible, in favor of the stones. Opal weight estimated at around 4.00 caratsTotal weight of the diamonds estimated at approximately 3.00 carats including a 0.66 carat diamond Gross weight: 13.97 g Condition: slight micro-scratches on the metal parts; a crack in the opal, linked to its structure and imperceptible to wear; natural inclusions in the diamonds not visible to the naked eye (see photos).
