"Napoleon III Fan In Mother-of-pearl, Gold And Silver Leaf."
Magnificent fan from the Napoleon III period. Note its very beautiful frame in white mother-of-pearl finely pierced, and applied with gold and silver leaf decorated with flowers and trophies. The paper sheet is painted in gouache with gallant scenes in the style of the 18th Century. This fan is precious especially as its custom-made frame is a good quality hermetic exhibition formwork whose quality is to preserve it and display it with panache. The folds are in good general condition with no cracks. Some small restorations of probable use (Impossible to see the reverse, the frame being closed) Period second half of the XIXth Century
