"Double Desk In Teak Veneer, Vintage Style, Attributed To G. Guermonprez - 1950s/1960s"
Double Retro spirit desk, attributed to the French Designer Gérard Guermonprez (1895-1981). The furniture models of this Tourquennois were distributed mainly in North Africa and in the Paris region - in particular in the Bobois houses - in the 1960s. This Bureau Vis à Vis offers a teak veneer top in perfect condition as well as two boxes of the same wood. The latter, arranged by definition on either side of the cabinet, each consist of a niche 11 cm deep, as well as a drawer assembled in Dovetail. The handles are in Gold Metal, but also Black, reminiscent of the Industrial style lacquered base of this Middle Desk. More specifically, it rests on four straight uprights, deliberately placed asymmetrically in pairs: two under the top, two under the boxes. They are interconnected by two side bars and an X-shaped spacer. Note that this skilful unequal distribution of the feet of course in no way affects the stability of the whole. The interior furniture designed by Guermonprez is resolutely Solid, Simple and Functional. But beyond these attributes, this Double Desk with a light design will allow you to receive and bring a trendy Vintage touch to your private or professional workspace. ******** Period: 1950 / 1960 Perfect condition. Varnished finish on a hard bottom.
