Guy Marandet was born in Paris in 1917, in the Marais district. His father, Maurice Marandet, was a goldsmith designer.
He was a licensed professor of Art Drawing in the schools of the City of Paris and in the Paris region.
After several regular stays in Mirmande in André Lhote's house, he acquired "La Grande Maison" in 1953, a ruined building which he tirelessly restored during thirty years of vacation.
As soon as he retired, he settled permanently in Mirmande, training several of his students, painters, engravers or sculptors, who settled in the region.
Guy Marandet leaves a rich oeuvre of drawings, engravings, watercolours, pastels and oils on canvas, mainly representing landscapes from France and abroad.
Regular exhibitions in France and around the world.
