"Suite Of Six Charles X Period Cross-brace Chairs In Ash By Jj Werner."
Suite of six ash cross-brace chairs inlaid with rosettes and amaranth palmettes. They rest on four saber legs. The seats are covered with a tapestry with small dots depicting crowns of flowers. They are attributed to Jean-Jacques WERNER. An identical chair signed Werner, part of the Roger Imbert collection, appears on plate 8 in "Meubles et ensembles Restauration Louis-Philippe" published by Massin. This chair also appears on page 630 in "French furniture of the 19th century" by Denise Ledoux-Lebard published by the amateur editions. Possibility of also acquiring a set consisting of six identical chairs and four model armchairs (without the palmette marquetry on the upper band). A very rare opportunity to acquire a set of sixteen seats of the same model by one of the most famous cabinetmakers of the time.
