The Cherries
- J.J.Rousseau and Miss Galley and  de Graffenried
 
engraved by Jazet (1788-1871) after Schlinger.
Paris-Goupil, Vibert & Cie editors.
The subject refers to a scene described in the book "les Confessions" by Jean Jacques Rousseau (published in 1782 and 1789) in which the author says : "Que mes lèvres ne sont-elles des cerises ! "
The engraving has kept all its margins.
Provenance : Goupil archives, one of the first proofs.
