"Authentic Small Panetière In Walnut, Louis Philippe Period - Mid-19th Century"
Rare Panetière in Walnut, from the Louis Philippe period, opening with a small door with brass hinges and a turning button. Its slatted box is made up of turned wooden columns, a design that promotes the preservation of a historically central element in our diet: bread. This Regional piece of furniture, frequently present in Breton or Provencial houses of the 19th century, is topped with a Cornice cut at Doucine. The bottom is perforated, made up of flat cleats. This Panetière can rest on its four feet, cut out at the front, straight at the back. However, two iron hooks also allow it to be hung on the wall, an initially privileged position to make its contents out of reach of rodents. The imagination of the future purchaser of this Authentic piece of furniture will decide its next function, which may be strictly original or radically diverted. ******** Period: Mid-19th century Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
