First World War soldier's periscope. It consists of a cylindrical and rectilinear case with a 45° mirror at each of its open ends: the light penetrates through the upper end and comes out on the side of the observer's eye, on the lower part. Thus, this optical instrument allowed soldiers to see the battlefield while remaining hidden in the trenches.
