Disease of the veins. Pulmonary phlebitis.
Patient (figure 1): Mrs. Marie-Antoinette D., 29 years old, was received on July 12, 1830 in the maternity ward, she had a difficult delivery of 2 children. Multiple complications followed. From July 25 her condition improved, but on August 3 new complications appeared: oppression, coughing, difficult expectoration. She died on August 9.
Patient (figure 2 and 3): Pietro Niels, 30 years old, brought to Beaujon hospital on July 29, 1830, for 1 shotgun bullet that had wounded him and passed through the knee joint. He was amputated but his condition continued to deteriorate. He died on August 28 in an advanced state of marasmus. At the autopsy, alterations were found in the spleen, liver and lungs. Concerning the lungs: purulent foci and abscesses.
Condition: satisfactory condition in spite of some visible halos. THE PHOTOS ARE USED AS DESCRIPTION.
