"Chinese Snuff Box In Carved Purple Agate 19th Century"
Carved purple agate snuff flask. It is decorated with a famous theme of Chinese figuration: flowers and birds. We discern two Chinese bittern, which could be a Lady Amherst's pheasant and two blackbirds. They are surrounded by a flowering tree, probably a camellia. Magnificent finely carved and engraved piece. The cap is missing.
For contemporary use, you can easily use this old snuff box as a refined incense holder.
