Handwritten letter on revolutionary letterhead signed by Pierre François Percy, Chief Surgeon of the Rhine - Moselle Army
Dated September 19, 1795, Year III of the Republic
Interesting request for transfer from Citizen Duval:
The words Liberty and Fraternity on each side of a revolutionary seal representing two hands surrounded by laurel leaves and holding a staff surmounted by a Phrygian cap inscribed in a circle formed by a snake biting its tail, above a radiant sun. 'Human Rights' inscribed in the center on the pages of a book.

Citizens Colleagues
Please kindly, if possible, welcome on arrival from the Côtes de Cherbourg, as Surgeon of Mr Clast, the Citizen Duval, one of my collaborators, who entered the army of the Moselle, and whom I regret not being able to keep there so much I esteem him, and am attached to him; but he has been urging me for so long to take an interest in you to send him to the above-mentioned army, in the vicinity of which he has relatives, that I can no longer refuse to do so. This change, while very suitable for the family and the small fortune, would cure him of the nostalgic melancholy which consumes him. You cannot grant it to him too quickly.
Hi brotherhood.
Percy"
