Chest of 1876 in wood and steel. This old wooden and metal trunk has reinforcements on all sides. Supports to facilitate transport are located on both sides of the trunk. The inscriptions "Douai 1876" are on the back of this old military trunk. This type of antique chest is usually made of wood or metal and is sturdy enough to withstand the shocks and harsh conditions encountered during sea and land transport. It is usually large enough to hold several cannonballs and is often used by armies and warships to store their ammunition. The cannonball chest is also used in some civilian contexts, for example when constructing buildings or structures, to store concrete or other types of projectiles used to pierce or break rock or other materials hard.
