This showcase is in good general condition, in its own juice. We have his key, the lock works. A note: some tiny gaps and scratches on the wood, the wood has gone a little in places, some small accidents and gaps on the Martin varnish, some wear and tear, but very correct summer. *Vernis Martin: In 1728, the Martin brothers in Paris perfected an imitation copal-based lacquer, the Martin varnish, intended to compete with the lacquers of China and Japan. This varnish, less expensive for the decoration of furniture than the application of lacquer panels, was also used to harmonize furniture with a significant curve, the lacquer panels could not bear to be too rounded. The Martin varnish created the connection between these panels so that the furniture was visually homogeneous. However, it had its own existence by reproducing and interpreting the works of painters of the time applied to furniture as decoration. Martin varnish was also used in the 19th century on period furniture.
