Laos, beginning of the 19th century or earlier, old, superb and unusual bronze statue of Buddha, represented seated, in a monk's robe, eyes closed, face reflecting deep inner serenity, hands in "bhumisparsa mudra" posture , the head surmounted by the unisha in the shape typical of this provenance. Beautiful dark green patina. This piece has the particularity of having been fixed on a red lacquered wooden base, further enhancing its beauty. Good condition except for slight normal wear and no impact. Total height 20.8 cm (14.8 cm without the base). The scale witness on the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a well-known brand.
