We Mayor & Municipal Officers, certify that "Mr. Jean Bolivaud, Citizen of this city" native of "Pont de Veyle", Department of aged years, hair size eyebrows forehead eyes nose mouth chins told us that we wanted to go to "Pont de Veyle, Head of the District Court of Châtillon, Department of L'ain for family affairs." Accordingly, we request Messrs. the Commanders of the National Guards & of the National Gendarmerie, to allow "him" to pass freely without allowing him to be given any impediment, & to "help" him if need be of their aid & assistance; in witness whereof we have delivered this present, which we have had countersigned by the Secretary-Registrar. At Evreux in the Common House, the "Tenth of January", one thousand seven hundred and ninety-two".
