Jacques-Nicolas Bellin, born in Paris in 1703, died in Versailles on March 21, 1772, was a French hydrographer cartographer. In 1721, Bellin was appointed hydrographer of the Ministry of the Navy following the creation of the French hydrographic office and the Depot of maps and plans of the Navy.
