"Indian Chiffon Skirt Embroidered With The Arms Of The Princes Of Wales England -circa 1790-1810"
Circa 1780-1810 Wales or United Kingdom Beautiful and moving two-part flat skirt or bottom of dress in Indian muslin embroidered with the arms of the Princes of Wales. Presence of two side slit pockets. Tricolor cotton embroidery (blue-white-red) in Beauvais point in large frieze on the bottom of the skirt. There are medallions with thistles in openwork embroidery, punctuated by crescents with vermiculated designs (in reference to the trees of life of the British Indies Company). Three feathers represent the emblem of the Princes of Wales surmounted by the motto ICH DIEN (I serve). Exceptional and unique piece! Note a few rare period covers and missing embroideries, Clean piece. Very good structural state of preservation. Piece having kept the primer and the rigidity of the textiles in good condition. Dimensions: two flat pieces 103 cm high by 113 cm wide each (i.e. 226 cm skirt bottom).
