"Fauré Camille (1919-1985), Very Important Limoges Enamel, Framed Email. Sea Landscape, "
Exceptional enamel plate representing a raging sea, the waves breaking on the rocks. This work was carried out on a large curved copper plate, hammered by hand, thus giving effects of bumps and deformation. This important plaque was executed in one of the Fauré workshops in Limoges. Camille Fauré is one of the most famous Limougeaud enamellers and considered one of the best for the quality of his works. This enamel is signed lower left and numbered. It is sold in a very beautiful gilt frame and blackened on the edges of the molding. It is decorated in its interior with a fine frieze carved in gilded stucco. The interior is lined with a marie-louise covered with a pale pink fabric. The enamel is surrounded by a golden rod. On the back, the certificate of authenticity signed by Ateliers Fauré, guaranteeing high quality work and entirely handmade and titled "La vague". Note two tiny hairs on the top of the enamel, barely visible and without any effect on the visual (see last photo).
