"Maija Liisa Komulainen Pour Raak - Fuga Pair Of Golden Sconces Organ Pipes Space Age, 1970s"
Pair of Scandinavian "Fuga" wall lights from the mid-20th century, these lights were designed by the Finnish Designer Maija Liisa Komulainen and produced by the Raak company in Amsterdam in the 1970s. These wall lights are made of brushed and gilded aluminum (see copper). In the shape of organ pipes, each wall lamp has 3 pipes receiving 6 standard bulb sockets to screw in E26 (standard LED). These tubular cavities have the effect of an unusual play of light for glare-free indirect lighting. In very good condition, note two slight signs of wear due to time (see photos). Electricity ok. At the forefront of the avant-garde in the early 1970s, these "Space Age" type luminaires were both functional, sculptural in shape and well in the spirit of the time, Optical Art also called Op Art.
